Dennis K. Buth, M.D. (Emeritus)
Internal Medicine
Dr. Buth has been an investigator with PRN since 2000. He has conducted studies in the areas of IBS, diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension, CAD, and dyslipidemia. 
Dr. Buth retired in 2017 and is enjoying spending his time with his grandkids and working on his model train collection.
Dr. Buth graduated magna cum laude from Wichita State University in 1968, and received his medical degree from the University of Kansas school of Medicine in 1972. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Francis Regional medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of internal Medicine and has received the Physician's Recognition Award in Continuing Education.

Dr. Buth, a native of Colorado Springs, Co, is a clinical associate in the Department of Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and is an associate professor at Kansas State University. Prior to joining the group, he was in practice with Drs. Matassarin, Treweeke and Kennedy in Wichita. He considers diabetes and gastroenterology to be special components of his practice.

On top of being a stellar physician he is an avid basketball fan.  Go Shocks!


Shilpa Kshatriya, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Invasive Cardiologist at Heartland Cardiology, PA

 
Dr. Kshatriya joined PRN in 2013. She is a Cardiologist at Heartland Cardiology, PA.
Dr. K, as she is fondly called, is a non-interventional cardiology.  She has a son and a daughter who keep her busy outside the office.

Gregory F. Lakin, D.O., J.D., M.R.O.
Family Practice, Addiction Medicine
Dr. Lakin has worked with PRN since 2003. He has conducted studies in areas of diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, pain, and dyslipidemia. Helping people recover from substance abuse is a passion of Dr. Lakin's. In 2008, Dr. Lakin opened Center for Change Outpatient Addiction Treatment Center in Wichita Kansas. In 2009 he opened Family Health and Rehabilitation in Derby Kansas.
 

Basit A. Malik, M.D.
Rheumatology

Dr. Malik has been working with PRN since 2007. He has conducted multiple studies focusing on rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Malik also has his own practice, Malik Rheumatology, P.A. located in right next door to PRN.

Neal B. Secrist, D.O.
Family Practice

 
Dr. Secrist has worked with PRN since 2007. He has conducted studies in GERD, prevention, diabetes, and dyslipidemia. Dr. Secrist has extensive experience in family practice, emergency medicine, and industrial medicine.

William C. Simon, D.O., C.I.M.E., M.R.O. 
Family Practice

Dr. Simon has been an investigator at PRN since 2005. He has done studies in the areas of prevention, diabetes, and hypertension. Dr. Simon completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri and recieved his B.S. degree in nutrition from Park College. He practiced as a chiropractor in Sedalia, Missouri before obtaining his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was a family practice physician with the Via Christi Riverside Health System, where he served on the hospital board. He joined with Dr. Greg Lakin to open New Medical Health Care in October of 2003. He is board certified in Family Practice, is a certified Independent Medical Examiner, a Medical Review Officer and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Bill does complimentary medicine including homeopathy and prolotherapy, is a trained Reiki Master, and also does a mean John Wayne impression. He is married to Elizabeth and they have one child, Peder.

 
 

Ghiyath Tabbal, M.D., F.H.R.S


Interventional Cardiology

Dr. Tabbal started working with PRN of Kansas in the Summer of 2015.

His board certifications include:  cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, internal medicine, cardiac electrophysiology

He has been with Heartland Cardiology since 2010.

Paula Worley, M.D.
Family Medicine

Dr. Worley is a board certified family medicine physician.  She works in urgent care.  She brings her compassion for patients and passion for medicine to our research team.
